I have been searching high and low for a good resource on Boise's local fishing holes. Places such as Veterans Memorial Pond, McDevitt Pond, Settlers Pond, Quinn's Pond (Clocktower Pond for those of us that actually live in Boise ;) and the stretches of the boise river that run through city limits. I have found nothing except the stocking records from the Idaho Fish and Game. (accessible here) I also noticed that often times when I go out to these locations to soak a few worms that I am alone making it difficult to garner local knowledge on these bodies of water. Sooooooo as a result I have decided to chronicle my fishing experiences at these fishing holes so everyone can get an idea what's biting in Boise and where. Some of these fishing holes are rarely fished and have some great fisheries for Trout, Catfish, Bluegill, Crappie, and Bass to name a few.
A little about me.......

I am a local computer professional and Boise has been my home for the last 6 years. I grew up hunting and fishing in Ohio and various parts of of rural Idaho and after moving to Boise from out in the sticks I was starved for some regular sporting adventures. As I work 5-6 days a week I cant routinely make it out to the fishing holes I really want to hit (later in the season I will Blog about Mann's Lake, Brown-lee and CJ Strike) and these local fishing holes can offer some excellent fishing with almost no travel time. I started fishing these holes last year and was met with some excellent results. I will share these results as often as possible so that Local folks can try to home in on the best local fishing we have here in Boise.
